Vitamin C Test Strips

These vitamin C (ascorbic acid) test strips are intended for biology lab use. However, if you are so inclined, you can use them at home to see if the vitamin C levels in your fruit juices are as advertised. These strips are calibrated in per cent (%) with 0.01% being equivalent to 10mg/100ml and 0.1% is equal to 100mg/100ml.

If you use these for tomato juice, try to compare different brands since the red color might interfere with comparisons made to apple or orange juice.

Note (1): there color interferences caused by lime juice. However, this does not correlate with Vit. C. concentration directly. Use this information strictly for reference of relative strength.

half strength.....dark pink
1/4 strength.....pink/lt. purple
1/8 strength.....purple
1/16 strength...deep purple

Note (2): The number of strips per pack or vial is approximate.
