Residual-Trace Chlorine Test Strips

These test strips can determine chlorine levels down to 0.5ppm in seconds. They are ideal for anyone who is concerned about detecting trace (residual) levels of free chlorine. There are a variety of uses for this.

USDA or California organic certification regulations. Simply place a drop of deionized water on the pad of the test strip. Then, firmly apply the test strip for several seconds to the surface of the food handling equipment or tables or the fruit or vegetables themselves. If there is chlorine present, the strip will change color within 15 seconds or less.

Test drinking water. Especially useful on the farm where chlorine is used to kill pathogenic bacteria & then the chlorine is removed using hydrogen peroxide.

Handy for art restorers who need to confirm that the amount of bleach left after removing residues caused by smoke damage is low enough so that the paintings won't fade.
