pH Base Indicator Papers, Range 7.0-10.0
pH basic (alkaline) indicator papers measure alkaline solutions in the range of pH 7.0-10. They can be used
for making buffers involving baking soda-sodium bicarbonate or hard (mineralized) water. The pH base indicators are mounted on rigid,
high contrast white plastic.
Note: The number of strips per pack or vial is approximate.
- Narrow pH range 7.0-10.0; resolution is 0.5 pH unit
- Test baking soda, ammonia or hard water.
- Ethylene glycol based antifreeze
Test Specifications; How to Use
- Dip strip in solution for 1-2 seconds; compare to color chart
- Solutions must be aqueous (water based)
- For soaps, wet the strip first; oils cannot be tested
- Deeply colored solutions can cause inaccurate readings
- 2+ year shelf life if kept sealed & out of direct sunlight
- Papers are non-bleeding so can be dipped for several minutes
