Acidic pH Levels Test Indicators, 4-7
You can use acidic pH level indicator test papers in the 4.0-7.0 range for
measuring weakly acidic liquids such as urine . They are also recommended for accurate testing of saliva which
is typically in the range of pH 6.3-6.5. If you are interested in your drinking water, from the tap or bottle,
you should expect to see a reading between 5.5 & 6.0. Under "just distilled" conditions, water should be neutral, pH 7,
but since CO2 readily dissolves in water, it forms a mild solution of carbonic acid, which makes it closer
to pH 5.6. These acid test strips can also be used for detecting yeast infections which occur in the 3.8-4.2 range.
Note: The number of strips per pack or vial is approximate.
- Narrow pH range 4.0-7.0; resolution is 0.5 pH unit
- Test drinking water ; typically pH 5.6.
- Test saliva; typically pH 6.3-6.5.
- Urine can be pH 5-8
Test Specifications; How to Use
- Dip strip in solution for 1-2 seconds; compare to color chart
- Solutions must be aqueous (water based)
- For soaps, wet the strip first; oils cannot be tested
- Deeply colored solutions can cause inaccurate readings
- 2+ year shelf life if kept sealed & out of direct sunlight
- Papers are non-bleeding so can be dipped for several minutes
