Nanotechnology Models:
| |||||||||||||||||||||
| This section is for engineers an scientists
involved in areas of nanotechnology & materials research. We list a broad range of structures such as nanotubes,
nanowires, nanospheres (buckyballs), diamond, graphene, and more that are both useful as teaching & R&D tools.
This selection of models has been collated from the different styles of models we supply; more models in each style
can found in their respective sections.
The Minit style is best for producing a relatively small model with many unit cells (repeating units) that will be used mainly for display. The Orbit style typically uses fewer unit cells but is recommended for teaching where students are expected to build their own structures since these will withstand frequent assembly/disassembly. The Molymod style is the largest of these three & typically uses fewer unit cells still. They are ideal for classroom demonstration in conjunction with overhead projectors. Note: This section is intended for advanced users. Instructions for many of these models, will be done on-line with pictures since describing complex structures in words is difficult. If you are interested in custom designing see or which are used in these models. |
