Single Molecule Magnet Models
The Cr8 and Mn12 nanomagnet models shown below have each two different ways.
Those made with the Minit components have 6mm centers
and use our "GlowBonds"™ so that they will glow in the dark. This has no scientific significance but is used to
represent unusual secondary characteristics; in this case the potential quantum characteristics of these magnets.
The alternate version are made with the slightly larger Orbit parts
which come with 10mm atom centers and use our "wobbly"™ bonds which are more robust.
Note: These models are intended for advanced users; it is recommended that you have at least one science or
engineering degree. The instructions for these models are provided on-line with pictures since describing complex
structures in words is difficult.
