Penicillin G-Benzylpenicillin Molecular Model

Benzylpenicillin is one of the penicillin derivatives. It is not stable in a strong acid environment, i.e. the stomach, so is administered by injection. This molecule has a chemical formula of: C₁₆H₁₈N₂O₄S. In the image below, note that the ring was inverted & you cannot see the 3 double bonds (where we use 6 of the "X" pegs).

There is currently no dedicated kit for this model but you can build it using our Advanced Student biochemistry Set, 68829W. The number of components required to build this model are listed below. The numbers in brackets, (Qty) are the amounts that come with the student set. If you want to build more than one such model, you will need the larger Class version.
