Buckyball Dendrimer Molecule Model Kit (Orbit)
This buckyball dendrimer model can be used to illustrate some of the potential uses of dendritic technology. This is a modified version
of our standard buckyball kit & it includes non descript "R" groups attached to each carbon atom of the sphere. These "R" groups can represent
antigenic materials for example to fool the immune system into accepting the molecule as a carrier for drugs or metal atoms used in magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI).
The instructions for building a standard buckyball are provided; the "R" groups are very simple to add. Click on the larger image below for a better view
of the branching sections; trigonal bipyramidal atoms are provided in place of standard trigonal carbon atoms.
