Simple Alcohols Built with Set 68827W
| In the image below, methanol is shown top centre, with ethylene glycol
to its right, ethanol lower right, 1-propanol to the lower left and 2-propanol (also known as rubbing alcohol)
to its left. Water is shown below it and is included since it chemically similar to alcohol.
The 68827W student set includes 30 carbons, 50 hydrogens and 25 oxygens, so you can build all these molecules
simultaneously. The models are shown using 20mm bonds for C-H, O-H. 30mm bonds are generally used for C-C,
but a few 20mm slipped into this shot. |
