Nanosphere Models
This page lists all the different ways we have put together carbon nanospheres (buckyballs).
The top row shows models built with the three types of components we carry: Orbit, Molymod & Minit. The differences between them are described
at the bottom of the main page.
The Minit buckyball on the right is also differentiated by being both the smallest and using our phosphorescent GlowBonds#153; so that
it glows in the dark.
The bottom rows shows the largest version at the left which uses 100mm bonds to produce a sphere that is ~0.5m across (~2 feet).
The one in the middle shows that a graphene sheet can be used either to make a carbon nanosphere or a graphite model. In addition,
this model has hydrogens attached producing a "fuzzyball". The last one is a buckyball dendrimer, a relatively new addition
in the area of carbon nanotechnology.
If you buy multiple (3+) versions of any of these models, you can in fact build an elongated version that will represent a
carbon nanotube.
