Neodymium Rare Earth Permanent Magnets
Neodymium iron boron is the most popular type of permanent rare earth magnet. We offer a broad range of disc, rod, square, rectangle,
cube and ring magnets in metric sizes (mm) for the science and engineering researcher. For the general
public we offer a limited range of magnets in inch (American) units.
Click on the links/images below for:
- unit and quantity discount pricing
- field strengths at 0mm, 0.1mm, 1mm, 10mm & 100mm above the magnet
- holding/repelling force values in grams, Newtons and pounds
- All magnets axially magnetized, i.e. through the flat/largest surfaces.
- All magnets are made to ISO standards: 9001, 14001, 16949
- All N42 magnets are 13000 +/- 200 Gauss
- Flux density variation is ~+/- 8%
Note: If you need to know which pole is North or South, or simply want to make sure all the magnets are aligned the
same way, we have 2 options:
1) Use a compass. This is "cheap & dirty".
2) For something more versatile, that even works through walls, try a
Magnaprobe.

Neodymium rare earth magnets are the strongest permanent magnets by weight and come in many grades; we carry
N42 (13,000 Gauss) which is a good tradeoff of strength vs price for both educational & industrial applications.
Custom magnets, strengths (N40-N52) and max. temperatures (up to 180C) are available with a minimum order of
$125. Send us your specifications & drawings (jpg or PDF) so we can quote you.
North/south poles are through the flat surfaces of disks, rectangles, rings and cylinders. Other axes of
magnetization are available on special order. Indicate this clearly on your drawing if needed.
Safety Warning!
- Can damage computer gear & credit cards.
- Handle with care. Magnets can snap together and break skin or a finger or shatter on impact.
