Strong Permanent Magnets
We have been supplying permanent
magnets for sale on-line since 1997 including: neodymium rare earth magnets; high temperature samarium cobalt magnets
(SmCo-special order only); strontium ferrite ceramic magnets; alnico and chrome steel. Our current on-line stock of
neodymium rare earth permanent magnets focuses mainly on high tolerance N42 grade for the most demanding science,
engineering & industrial applications.
Permanent Magnet Types For Sale
Our on-line magnet supplies store consists largely of neodymium rare earth magnets with 150 sizes of discs,
cylinders (rods), blocks (rectangles), squares, cubes and rings. Their uses vary from tripping sensors, holding or lifting objects and even levitation.
All of our rare permanent magnets are magnetized through their thickness; we do not offer diametrically magnetized magnets.
are weaker but more economical. They are particularly good for building
magnetic sweepers, among other things, where overall size is important. Our ferrite ceramic magnets come mainly in blocks along with a limited range of discs. Most of the
ferrite magnets, like the permanent rare earth magnets, are magnetized through their thickness.
We also supply specifically for educational use. These differ from our other permanent magnets in
having their poles are at their ends which are painted red & blue and stamped "N" & "S" respectively.
These bar magnets are relatively weak and are intended for use with compasses and iron filings to show the shape of magnetic fields similar to
that of Earth. They are also ideal for simple demonstrations of attraction and repulsion.
Permanent Magnet Accessories
The presence of magnetic fields can be shown in several ways. The simplest are
which work best with our ferrite bar magnets.
For the more sophisticated or adventurous user, try the magnaprobe which has a gimbal mounted alnico bar magnet that moves in 3D space in response
to a magnetic field.
The Mark II or basic model is a must for high school physics or electronics classes who want see the variation in magnetic field shape in the X-Y-Z planes.
It is also a very handy tool for aligning magnets. The alnico bar magnet also has N & S red-blue painted poles so you can quickly line up all your magnets so that their
poles face the same way. No need to be in direct contact (not recommended anyway) and no battery or lights to fail!
The advanced or Mark I magnaprobe is of a similar design but uses ultra-low friction jewel mounts to give it exceptional sensitivity. It can be used to
detect magnets at >1m distances or very weak magnetic leakages. Some people have even claimed to be able to measure magnetic declination!

Discount-Wholesale Prices
You can buy just one of any magnet we sell but you can also get quantity (10+, 100+, 1000+) discount prices as well. Because we offer
so many magnets, we show only the unit (quantity 1-9) prices to keep our pages readable. But, if you click on the quantity "1-9" you can see
discount pricing. Or, click on the "buy-quote" button to add an item to the shopping cart to see the various shipping options as well.
Sample Packs
Whether you are a scientist or engineer or just plain curious, if you are just starting your project, you are nevertheless faced with the ever
difficult "what magnets to buy?" problem. We are not so presumptuous as to suggest sample packs because everyone has a slightly different
problem. Instead, we make it easy to view & buy entire size ranges at once. Build your own permanent magnet custom sample pack!
To see all our 1mm thin magnets, simply click on the "" link in the left
hand column and type in 44*-1. This will produce a list of 1mm thick discs, squares, rings and rectangles.
All of our other permanent rare earth magnets increase in thickness in 2.5mmm (1/10") steps. As above, simply click on
"" and type in 44*-2.5. This will show you every disc, rod, cube, ring or rectangle
rare earth permanent magnet that is 2.5mm thick.
You can do this for 44*-5, 44*-7.5, 44*-10, 44*-12.5, 44*-15, 44*-25 and see every permanent rare earth magnet disc, rod, cube, ring or
rectangle with thicknesses of 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, & 25mm respectively.
Occasionally we end up overordering or a customer cancels unexpectedly. These magnets end up in our surplus section.
Take advantage of deep discounts on brand new permanent rare earth magnets.
