Neodymium Cylinder (Rod) Magnets
| We list neodymium cylinder magnets separately from other round magnets based on having a height/thickness greater
or equal to their diameter. Some neodymium cylinder magnets can generate a detectable magnetic field at a considerable distance. You can use the shown below to demonstrate this as well as for locating them at a distance and aligning them so that their poles face the same way. The 12.5mm x 25mm neodymium cylinder(rod) magnet can also be used for a very dramatic demonstration of how an eddy current brake could work. All you need beside the magnet is a 1/2" copper pipe that is at least 12" (30cm) long.
