Magnaprobe Magnetic Field Sensors

The Magnaprobe is a fascinating way to demonstrate the three dimensional nature of magnetic fields. It consists of a small alnico bar magnet that is gimbal mounted (i.e. behaves like a gyroscope) so that it will freely rotate to map out x, y and z coordinates as you move it around a magnetic source. Both models come with a list of suggested experiments. Test different magnet shapes such as rare earth disc, square, cube or ring magnets or investigate electromagnetism in coils using different current intensities. It is very sensitive and is very useful for testing magnetic shielding for magnetic leakage.

Note: The ultrasensitive version comes in white plastic.
